MARKET DAY

A friend of mine went on vacation to few countries in Central America
and while visiting a small town in Guatemala
he went to a public market near his hotel, took a series of photos
of the people doing their daily shopping.
I asked him to lend me a few of the photos to combine in the composition
of a painting, and after trying few sketches I settled for this one.
It is now owned by a Corporate Institution.

PALMETTO TRAIL

This painting was done in Plein-Air while visiting the Living Desert Museum
in Palm Desert, CA
It was a very warm day in Summer in late afternoon so
I could not stay too long in the heat, so made few sketches and began painting
but had to finish it in the studio.
This painting is in the Rancho Foundation Art Gallery, Downey CA

MY USUAL SPOT

While visiting Carmel Shore in Monterey Peninsula CA
I stopped to admire the spectacular view and while getting my camera ready to shoot
I saw this Seagul flying back and forth to the same spot of a rock, and judging from the
amount of droppings I concluded that this was its favorite spot to catch small fish.
So the title of this painting had to be: My Usual Spot

YOU ONLY HEAR THE BIRDS

On a visit to the Norton Simon Museum of Art in Pasadena, CA
went to the outdoor garden, resting area, and sat to contemplate the still  of the water
in the pond, and it was so quite that I could only hear the birds chirping.
Got my sketching pad and did some sketches that lately became this painting.
