What is Gouache?
Is an opaque watercolor medium of
artist's quality, it is liquid in form
contained in jars, tubes, and in solid
dried cakes in one set of colors
Gouache is pure pigment plus white
with a binder usually Gum Arabic
Since the Renaissance has been used by
Durer, Rubens, Van Dyck as well as
impressionist and post impressionist masters
Degas, Villard, Mattisse, Picasso and many
more recent painters, like Thomas Moran
Winslow Homer, John Singer Sargent
just to name a few.
